Marysville Pictograph Project
The Marysville Pictograph Project is a tribuatary of the Confluence Project that has been developing over the course of the past year.  The project's main purpose is to integrate the cultural history of Oregon into an art project that has been in part created by 60+ 4th and 5th grade students at Marysville Elementary this past spring during a series of art classes that focused on the pictographs of the Columbia River Gorge and a story called "Tongue" from the "Clackamas Chinook Texts".  Just as the pictographs of the past have been a means of expression and communication, the students pictographs will become a permanent part of the Marysville Playground in the form of images etched and painted into basalt columns that will be a part of the playground remodel that is currently in development.
